청소년들을 대상으로 색공간에 따른 주의집중력 및 뇌파의 특성을 분석하고자 하였다.
이를 위해 흰색공간을 기준으로 파란색, 초록색, 빨간색의 공간을 구성하였다.
주의집중력 검사의 피험자는 청소년기인 15세의 여학생 8명으로 선정, 사전에 연구의 목적, 방법 등을 설명하고, 이에 동의하는 학생들을 대상으로 실험을 진행하였다. 주의집중력검사는 독일에서 개발되었으며, 개인의 주의행동을 연구하는 심리검사로, 오현숙씨가 한국 표준화시킨 한국어판 주의집중력검사도구인 FAIR주의집중력검사지를 사용하였다.
좀 더 정확한 실험을 위해 사전의 주의집중력 검사를 실시, 검사결과에 따라 주의집중력이 높은 학생 2명을 포함한 그룹과 주의집중력이 낮은 학생 2명을 포함한 그룹으로 구성하였다.
뇌파실험공간은 1500㎜×1500㎜×2400㎜의 크기로, 각각 흰색(N9.5, S0500-N), 파란색(7.5BG 5/8, S2555-B30G), 초록색(7.5G 5/8, S2555-G), 빨간색(5R 4/14, S2070-R)으로 실험공간을 구획하였으며, 조명기구는 D65표준광원, 100㏓로 조성하였다. 실험 시 종이 등으로 마감했을 때의 이음새나 질감 등의 시각적 오차를 줄이기 위해 페인트칠을 하였고, 실험진행시 빛이나 소음 등의 요인들을 최소화할 수 있도록 실험환경을 조성하였다.
뇌파측정도구는 인체에서 발생하는 뇌파, 심전도 등을 동시에 측정할 수 있는 전산화 폴리그래프 시스템인 Poly G-I로 측정하였으며, 측정방법은 전극을 부차시 10-20% 국제 표준 전극 부착법에 의해 전전두엽(Fp1,Fp2), 전두엽(F3,F4), 두정엽(P3,P4), 후두엽(O1, O2), 좌우귓불(A1, A2) 부위에 부착하였다. 흰색공간에서 전극을 부착 후 생소한 공간에 대한 불안감이나 긴장을 해소하기 위해서 해당 공간에서 5분가량 적응 후 뇌파측정을 하였다. 또한 다른 색공간에서 뇌파측정을 진행하기 전에 이전 색자극실험을 통한 잔상효과를 방지하기 위해, 흰색공간에서 5분가량 휴식을 취하게 한 후 다른 색공간으로 이동하여 실험을 진행하였다.
공간 시각적인 기능을 하는 두정엽에서의 색공간에 대한 측정한 뇌파를 분석한 결과, 주의집중력이 낮은 그룹과 높은 그룹은 기준자극인 흰색공간에 대비하여 파란색, 초록색, 빨간색의 색공간에서 주의집중력의 차이가 있었음을 알 수 있었다.
주의집중력이 낮은 그룹은 기준자극이었던 흰색공간에 대비하여 파란색과 초록색의 공간에서 주의집중력이 증가하였으나, 빨간색의 공간에서는 주의집중력이 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 주의집중력이 높은 그룹은 기준자극인 흰색공간에 대비하여 파란색, 빨간색의 공간에서는 특징을 알 수 없었으나 초록색 공간에서 주의집중력이 낮게 나타남을 알 수 있었다.
이는 주의집중력이 높은 학생들보다 낮은 학생들이 주의집중을 하기 위해 파란색과 초록색에서 이완되어 알파파가 증가되며 주의집중과 관련된 지표들 역시 증가됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 빨간색에서는 감마파가 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.
이러한 결과는 비슷한 주제로 선행되었던 연구결과들과 일치하는 양상을 보였다.
그러나 이 실험은 피험자의 수가 적기 때문에 결과를 일반화하기에는 한계가 있다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 단점을 보완하고자, 추후 피험자 수를 늘려 연구를 진행할 예정이다.
또한, 연령, 성별, 인원 등을 고려하여 다양한 피험자 및 실험공간을 대상으로 추후 연구가 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of attention concentration and EEG by space in different colors with subjects of adolescents. In order to achieve it, we constructed the space in blue, green and red on the basis of space in white. The subjects for attention concentration test were 8 female students at 15 years old. Before taking the test, the purpose and methods of this study were described to them and the test was carried out with students who agreed to this test. Attention concentration test was developed in Germany and it was the psychological test to study the attention behavior of individuals. FAIR attention concentration questionnaire which was standardized in Korea by Oh, Hyun Sook and the Korean attention concentration test tool was used. For more accurate experiments, attention concentration pre-test was carried out. According to results of test, groups were configured with a group containing two students with high attention concentration and the other group containing two students with low attention concentration. The dimension of space for EEG test was 1500 ㎜ × 1500 ㎜ × 2400 ㎜. The experimental space was partitioned in white (N9.5, S0500-N), blue (7.5BG 5/8, S2555-B30G), green (7.5G 5/8, S2555-G) and red (5R 4/14, S2070-R). Lighting equipment was configured with D65 standard light source, 100 lx. In order to reduce the visual error such as joints or texture of when the experiment was carried out, it was painted. The experimental environment was configured to minimize factors such as light or noise during the experiment.
EEG measurement tool was Poly G-I which was the computerized polygraph system to measure EEG and ECG generated in human body at the same time. For measurement methods, electrodes were attached on prefrontal (Fp1, Fp2), frontal (F3, F4), parietal (P3, P4), occipital (O1, O2) and left and right earlobes (A1, A2) according to 10 – 20 % international standard electrode attachment methods. After electrodes were attached on subjects in the space in white, EEG was measured after five minutes for adaptation in the corresponding space in order to relieve the anxiety and tension about an unfamiliar space. In addition, subjects took a rest for about 5 minutes in the space in white in order to prevent the afterimage effect through previous color stimulation experiment before EEG measurement was carried out in space in different color. After taking a rest, subjects were moved to space in different color and the test was carried out.
According to the results of analysis on EEG measured for color space in parietal area which played the spacious and visual roles, it was found that groups with low and high attention concentration had different attention concentration in spaces in blue, green and red compared to those in space in white which was the standard stimulation. It was found that the group with low attention concentration showed the increased attention concentration in spaces in blue and green compared with those in space in white which was the standard stimulation but it showed the decreased attention concentration in space in red. On the other hand, it was found that there were no characteristics in spaces in blue and red compared to those in space in white which was the standard stimulation but attention concentration was low in space in green in a group with high attention concentration. It was found that students with low attention concentration were more relaxed in spaces in blue and green in order to concentrate the attention than students with high attention concentration. Thus, alpha wave was increased and attention concentration and relevant indexes were increased as well. In addition, it was found that the gamma wave was increased in red. These results seemed to match the results of previous studies which were carried out with similar topics. However, this study has the disadvantage which is the limitation to generalize the results due to the small number of subjects. In order to complement these shortcomings, we will conduct the research with increasing number of subjects in the future.
In addition, it is thought to require the further study with various subjects and experimental spaces with consideration of age, gender and number of subjects.
