Korea has been changing to a multi-cultural society due to increasing international marriages. Therefore, there has been increasing interest in the importance of Korean education for married female immigrants. Korean education (education for Korean language?) for married female immigrants has focused on speaking and listening in order to help them be able to communicate with their family so far. However, it has changed to emphasize on reading and writing because many of them want to read and write Korean language for their better lives in addition to speaking and listening. Thus, institutions for married female immigrants should provide Korean education programmes not only for oral communication but also writing.
. This study explored the efficiency of Korean writing education using mindmap. The subjects of this study are eight married female immigrants who are from diverse countries and arrived in Korea at different times.
In a preparation phase, the researcher tested Korean writing abilities of the participants (subjects) and provided them opportunities to practice for Korean writing using mini mindmap. In an application phase, they were encouraged to write s in Korean using mind map after they read Korean literature whose heroines were married female immigrants in order to motivate them. The writings and drawings produced by married female immigrants before and after attending the Korean writing education programmes using mindmap were examined and the changes of psychological pressures of them were also examined.
The results showed that the Korean writing education programme using mindmap has increased the writing abilities of married female immigrants and reduced the psychological pressure for Korean writing. This study implies that Korean literature can be educational materials for Korean writing.

한국 사회는 국제결혼의 영향으로 인해 다문화 사회로 변모해 가고 있다. 따라서 이들 결혼 이민 여성에 대한 한국어교육의 중요성도 높아지고 있다. 지금까지의 여성 결혼이민자 대상 한국어 교육은 한국에 정착하기 위해, 혹은 가족과의 의사소통을 위해 필요한 것으로 여겨져 이루어졌으나 이제는 여성 결혼이민자의 많은 수가 읽기·쓰기 위주의 수업을 원한다. 따라서 여성결혼이민자들을 교육하는 기관, 사회단체에서도 구어적 의사소통 중심 교육뿐만 아니라 쓰기교육에 대한 프로그램을 함께 운영해야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 한국어 쓰기 능력 향상에 마인드맵의 활용 가능성을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해서 여러 나라에서 온, 한국어를 접하고 쓴 시기가 서로 다른 여성결혼이민자 8명을 학습대상자로 선정 하였다.
연구방법은 먼저 준비단계로 여성 결혼 이민자들의 한국어 쓰기능력에 대한 사전 점검과 미니 마인드맵의 규칙과 방법을 설명한 후, 미니마인드맵을 통하여 예비연습을 하게 하였다. 응용 단계에서는 연구 대상이 여성 결혼이민자들이므로 학습의 흥미 및 동기 부여에 도움이 되고자 여성 결혼이민자가 주인공인 문학작품을 선정하여 읽게 한 후 마인드맵을 적용하여 자신의 생각을 글로 쓰게 하게 하였다. 준비단계와 응용 단계를 통하여 마인드맵을 적용하기 전, 후의 글쓰기와 그림들을 살펴보았으며, 또한 이 자료들을 통하여 한국어 쓰기에 대한 여성 결혼이민자들의 심리적 부담에 대한 변화도 살펴보았다. 이러한 목적과 방법에 따른 연구를 통하여 한국어 쓰기 능력 향상에 마인드맵은 긍정적으로 작용하였고, 한국어 쓰기에 대한 부담도 상당히 줄여주는 효과가 있었음을 검증하였다. 아울러 한국어 쓰기 교육에 있어 문학작품을 활용하는 것 역시 한국어 쓰기 교재의 한 대안이 될 수 있다는 결론을 제시하였다.
