This will discuss the improved Korean language education plan directed towards multicultural families, with references from the recently implemented Korean language education policy by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. In 2013, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family adjusted their policy towards immigrants and multicultural families. Gathering place education, previously handled by the central department, were now under the administration of local autonomous entities. By doing so, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was able to implement diverse Korean language education plans with regional characteristics. Home-visiting Korean instructor policy, in particular, was the most effective of all the previously implemented policies and naturally led to increased number of home-visiting Korean tutors. However, amendments need to be made as countless multicultural families are unable to attain many of the educational benefits provided to them. First and foremost, the policy for immigrant males appear to be lacking. The former Korean language education plan revolved around female immigrants, simply due to the fact that they outnumbered immigrant males. Increasing immigrant male hypergamy into Korea drastically raises the sheer number of multicultural families. Since both of the aforementioned groups are members of this society, a Korean language program for them must exist as well. Furthermore, in contrast to international students, a unique Korean language education plan specially dedicated to the multicultural families is necessary. For such reasons, the aspects deemed unimportant in the previous Korean language policy were investigated by utilizing smart phones.
