본 연구는 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교육 프로그램을 구현하여 한국어 어휘 교육의 한 방법으로 제안하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국어 어휘 교육과 웹 기반 교육 연구들을 살펴보고, 웹 기반 어휘 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 개발한 프로그램을 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 사용하게 한 뒤 설문 조사를 통해 프로그램의 효과를 검증해 보았다.
1장에서는 한국어 어휘 교육 방법에 관해 논의된 선행 연구와 웹 기반 한국어 교육에 관한 선행 연구를 검토하여 주요 연구들의 의의와 한계점에 대해 고찰해 보고 본 연구의 목적과 필요성에 대해 기술하였다.
2장에서는 웹 기반 교육의 개념 및 특성에 대해 기술하고, 웹 기반 교육에 대한 전반적인 이론과 한국어 어휘 학습에 대해 살펴봄으로써 어휘 교수·학습 프로그램 설계를 위한 기초적인 토대를 마련하였다.
3장에서는 한국어 어휘 학습의 내용을 선정하고 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교수·학습 프로그램의 설계 원리를 토대로 실제 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램은 한국어 어휘 중 ‘먹다’의 여러 가지 확장된 의미를 학습자 수준에 따라 학습할 수 있도록 중급과 고급의 단계로 나누어 개발하였다.
4장에서는 3장에서 개발한 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교수·학습 프로그램을 중급과 고급 단계의 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 효과를 분석하였다. 중급과 고급 단계의 학습자 총 40명을 대상으로 개발된 프로그램을 직접 사용해 보게 하고 이에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하여 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교수·학습 프로그램이 한국어 교육에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있는지 모색하고자 하였다.
본 연구를 통해 한국어 학습자들이 웹 기반 교육 환경에 매우 밀접하게 있음을 확인하였고, 이들 가운데 과반 수 이상의 학습자들은 웹 기반 교육의 학습 경험이 있었으며 웹을 통한 교육의 효과도 긍정적으로 느끼고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 본 연구에서 개발된 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교수·학습 프로그램에 대한 사용 방법과 학습적 효과, 흥미도, 차후 학습에 대한 요구가 모두 긍정적으로 평가되었고 특히 고급 학습자의 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 이를 통해 개발된 프로그램이 학습자들의 어휘 학습에 긍정적인 역할을 하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 주관식 문항의 설문을 통해 향후 웹 기반 한국어 어휘 교육 프로그램의 개발에 고려할 사항들도 함께 확인할 수 있었다.
끝으로 5장에서는 본 연구의 내용 및 논의를 종합하고, 연구의 의의와 한계점을 밝혀 차후 연구 방향을 모색해 보았다.

The purpose of this study is to embody web-based Korean vocabulary learning program and propose it as the methodology of Korean vocabulary education. For this goal, first of all, this study examined previous researches on the Korean vocabulary education and web-based instruction, and then developed a web-based Korean vocabulary learning program. Secondly, this study analyzed the effectiveness of the visual program through a survey research carried out on Koran language learners.
The first chapter described the purpose and necessity of this research. Next, in this chapter were also examined the implications and limitations of major research conducted by previous researchers on the teaching methods of Korean vocabulary and the web-based Korean instruction.
In the second chapter of this study, the definitions and characteristics, the theoretical background of web-based Korean instruction and Korean vocabulary learning were presented. Based on these discussions, this study provided the theoretical foundation for conceptual design of Korean vocabulary Teaching-Learning program.
The third chapter selected Korean vocabulary learning contents and developed learning program which is based on the principles of design of Korean vocabulary Teaching-Learning program. The program was divided into intermediate level and advanced level according to learner’s capability, which participants could learn the vocabulary ‘먹다’ having diverse extended words.
In the fourth chapter, this study attempted to test the educational effects of web-based Korean vocabulary Teaching-Learning program and compared the effectiveness on the two different groups, consisted of intermediated and advanced Korean learners. The results of the analysis indicated that Korean learners were very closely linked to environment of web-based instruction, namely more than 50% of learners had experienced web-based instruction and they showed a positive response to the effectiveness of the education through the web. According to analysis results, advanced Korean learners showed higher levels of satisfaction about the web-based Korean vocabulary Teaching-Learning program than intermediated Korean learners. This indicates that the program has a positive effect on Korean vocabulary learning of learners. It was possible to confirm the considerations to develop a web-based Korean vocabulary learning program through the subjective responses.
Finally, the fifth chapter summarized the contents and results of this study and discussed the limitations of this study and some recommendations for the future studies.
