본 논문은 현재 한국에서 여러 방법으로 시행되고 있는 아동기의 제2언어인 영어 습득에 관련되어, 한국인이 영어지식과 모국어인 한국어 지식을 아동기에 습득할 경우에 한국인이 사용하는 영어가 한국어에 미칠 수 있는 영향에 대해서 고찰하는 것을 목표로 하여 그 내용을 서론에서 논의한다.
2장에서는 언어 습득 이론 중의 하나인 보편문법-원리-매개변항이론-에 대해서 설명하고, 이 이론이 제 2언어 학습에 적용될 수 있는 가능성을 과,영어와 한국어 지식을 모두 가지고 있는 언어 사용자의 마음속에 두 개의 혹은 2개 이상의 언어 지식이 표상되어 있는 모델에 대해서 논의하였다. 다중 언어 표상에 대한 모델은 서로 다른 언어 지식이 분리되었다는 가능성과 통합되었다는 가능성, 그리고 분리와 통합을 적절히 결합하여 2개 이상의 언어 지식이 저장되는 방식에 대해서 논의하였다. 다중 언어 지식 표상 모델은 5 가지로 제시되어 왔으며, 그 모델은 각각 서로 다른 언어 지식이 미치는 영향의 유무에 대해서 기술한다.
3장에서는 보편 문법의 원리-매개 변항 값의 차이점으로 나타나는 언어간 변화로 한국어와 영어에서 나타나는 재귀사 결속 범위에 대한 원리와 재귀사 결속 매개 변항값에 대하여 기술한다.
4장에서는 3장에서 논의한 한국어와 영어의 재귀사 결속에 대해서 어린 시절에 영어를 습득하여 한국어 수준으로 구사할 수 있는 아이들과 그렇지 않은 아이들을 대상으로 한 실험을 기술하였다. 실험에 대한 가설과 실험 대상 및 실험 방법에 대하여 기술하고 실험 결과와 2장에서 제시한 다중 언어 지식 표상 모델에 대한 이론을 이어갔다.
결론인 5장에서는 4장에서 나온 실험 결과를 토대로 한국 사회에서 일어나고 있는 영어 조기 교육과 영어 조기 유학의 추세에 대한 의견, 영어 교육이 한국어 교육과 균형 있게 진행되어야 할 필요성을 제기한 이후, 후속 연구에 대해서도 논의하였다.

Even though Second Language Acquisition Theory has focused on the effects of the first language on the second language, called Language Transfer, but it has not focused on the effects the second language on the first language. As the starting learning English is getting earlier, the formation of the linguistic knowledge of Korean and English has highly chance to be integrated. Therefore, Korean would be influenced by English, so Korean grammar could be attrited. This is about the effects the second language on the first language, Reveres Transfer, focusing on the binding parameters of reflexives in Korea and English.
This includes the multilingual competence representation model, the language acquisition mechanism from the Language Acquisition Device to the Universal Grammar: Principle-Parameter theory by Chomsky. Also, it deals with second language acquisition through the Universal Grammar.
The could give any possibility to re-consider the early-childhood English education in Korea with lots of ponderness and stable standard instead of pushing children to English-spoken environment.
