이 논문의 목적은 한국어와 미얀마어를 대상으로 격의 특성을 규명하고 이를 바탕으로 두 언어의 격조사를 비교하여 서로의 특징에 대한 차이점을 부각 시켜서 밝혀 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 두 언어의 격과 격조사의 특성을 밝히고 이들의 기능을 고찰하여 두 언어에 나타나는 격의 체계, 실현 방법, 기능 등을 제시하였다.
격조사 형성에 있어서 한국어는 미얀마어와 달리 여러 특징을 지니는데 그 중에 격조사의 보조사로 교체하는 것과 격조사와 격조사의 결합 형상, 또는 격조사 중출 현상 등이 있음을 비교하였다.
미얀마어와 달리 한국어의 격조사가 문법적 관념뿐만 아니라 의미적 관념을 나타내는 가능성이 높은데 이것은 한국어 격조사들은 모두 같은 격 기능만 수행하는 것이 아니고 다양한 의미 기능도 가지고 있다는 것을 비교하였다.
제 1 장에는 연구의 목적, 연구 대상 및 방법, 선행 연구에 대해서 기술하였다.
제 2 장에서는 격과 격조사의 관점에 대한 기본적 논의를 하였다. 그 동안 한국어 문법에서 격에 대한 정의가 어떻게 되어 왔는가 하는 것을 논의하고 격조사의 용법, 생략, 그리고 격조사의 의미에 따른 문법 현상을 제시하였다. 그 다음에 한국에서 아직 연구되지 않았던 미얀마어의 격 체계를 제시하고 이들의 문법 현상을 살펴 보았다.
제 3 장에서는 한국어와 미얀마어의 구체적인 자료를 중심으로 하여 격조사의 실현 방법을 비교하여 기술하였다. 주격 조사, 목적격 조사, 관형격 조사와 부사격 조사 등을 대상으로 비교하여 공통점과 차이점을 부각 시켜서 제시했다.
제 4 장에서는 살펴본 결과를 바탕으로 구체적인 격조사 교육 방안을 제시했다.
제 5 장에서는 이 두 언어의 격조사에 대해 비교한 것과 미얀마 학습자들을 위한 격조사 교육 방법을 바탕으로 하여 결론을 내렸다.

This aims to study the characteristics of case in Korean and Myanmar and to determine the similarities and differences by comparing the case system of the two languages. To do this, we have shown the case and its marker of the two languages and then have investigated the case system, the method of realization and the function of case.
Concerning the formation of case marker, the Korean contains various characteristics contrary to the Myanmar. Amongst them, we have compared the usage of a complement particle as a case particle, the combination of a complement particle and a case particle and the phenomenon of combination of a case particle and another case particle.
Contrary to the Myanmar, the case marker in Korean shows not only the grammatical conception but also the semantic conception. This reveals that the case particle in Korean not only performs the function of case but has the semantic function.
In the first chapter, we have explained the purpose of this study, the method of study, the materials used and the previous studies.
In the second chapter, we have discussed about the characteristics on the case and the realization of the case marker. We have shown how scholars had defined so far the case in Korean grammar and have given the usage of the case particle, the ellipsis of the case particle and the grammar phenomenon caused by the semantic change of the case particle. Then, we have shown the system of case markers in Myanmar and have investigated its grammatical phenomenon.
In the third chapter, we have compared the method of realization of the case and its marker in Korean and Myanmar. We have shown the similarities and differences in comparing cases in both languages.
In the fourth chapter, based on the research result, a concrete proposal of teaching method about Korean case particle is suggested.
In the fifth chapter, we have concluded our study based on the comparative analysis of the case and its marker in Korean and Myanmar and proposal of teaching method about Korean case particle for Myanmar students.
