이 글은 한국어 보조용언의 연구를 바탕으로 몽골어 보조용언의 설정 근거와 구별기준을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 우선 한국어와 몽골어의 보조용언의 선행 연구를 살펴보았다.
2장에서는 한국어와 몽골어의 보조용언에 대하여 논의하였다. 2.1에서는 한국어의 보조용언에 대하여 논의하였다. 한국어의 보조용언의 설정 근거를 제시하였고 그에 따라 보조용언이라는 용어를 정의하였다. 또, 보조용언의 구별기준과 특성을 밝히고 의미에 따라 8가지로 분류하였다.
2.2에서는 몽골어의 보조용언에 대하여 논의하였다. 몽골어에서는 아직까지 보조용언을 독립된 범주로 인정하지 않는 경우가 많다. 한국어의 보조용언 체계에 대한 연구를 바탕으로 몽골어의 보조용언을 하나의 문법적 범주로 설정할 수 있는 근거와 구별기준을 제시하였다. 몽골어의 15개의 보조동사의 의미를 상세하게 고찰하고 의미 별로 9가지로 분류하였다.
3장에서는 한국어와 몽골어의 보조용언을 비교하고 공통된 보조동사화 경로와 차이를 보이는 보조동사를 밝혔다. 3.1에서는 한국어와 몽골어의 보조용언의 형태상의 특성을 비교하였다. 본동사가 취하는 연결어미에 따른 몽골어 보조동사를 분류하고 한국어와 비교했다. 3.2에서는 의미상의 특성을 비교하였다. 의미기능에 따른 몽골어 보조동사 구문을 분류하였고 한국어와 비교해 보았다.

Abstract
The main study was based on the studies of Korean Auxiliary Verbs to determine characteristics of Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs. Some Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs as independent category are determined on the basis of the criteria of Korean Auxiliary Verbs.
Chapter 2 give a brief introduction to Korean and Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs. Part 2.1 discusses Korean Auxiliary Verbs as being independent category and reasons for that and defines what Auxiliary Verbs are. To show the characteristics of Auxiliary Verbs, I divided them into 8 groups by meanings.
Part 2.2 is about Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs. In Mongolia, there are many views that don't count Auxiliary Verbs as being independent category. The purpose of this part is based on the study done in part 2.1 about Korean Auxiliary Verbs to confirm that Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs are and should be considered as an independent category. Comparing the characteristics of Korean Auxiliary Verbs with those of Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs showed that 15 Mongolian Verbs were in fact Auxiliary Verbs. And these 15 Auxiliary Verbs were closely examined and divided into 9 groups by meanings.
In chapter 3 I compared the characteristics of Mongolian and Korean Auxiliary Verbs and pointed out similarities and differences of the conception of Auxiliary Verbs in each language. In part 3.1 compared the Korean and Mongolian Auxiliary Verb variations from a grammatical point of view. Mongolian main verb’s variation by coordinate connective ending was categorized and compared with Korean's. Part 3.2 Auxiliary Verbs of both languages was compared by meaning and implication. Mongolian Auxiliary Verbs was categorized by meaning and compared with Korean Auxiliary Verbs.
