아카이브가 사회를 구성하는 다양한 공동체의 정체성과 가치를 보존하는 공간으로 제공되면서 다양한 신념, 문화, 믿음, 종교, 활동 등을 기반으로 많은 공동체 아카이브들이 형성되었다. ... 아카이브가 사회를 구성하는 다양한 공동체의 정체성과 가치를 보존하는 공간으로 제공되면서 다양한 신념, 문화, 믿음, 종교, 활동 등을 기반으로 많은 공동체 아카이브들이 형성되었다. 다양한 공동체들은 아카이브를 통해 사라져가는 공동체의 기억과 경험을 공유하고 공동체의 정체성과 결속력을 높이고 확인할 수 있었다. 오늘날 아카이브는 사회의 다양한 기억과 기록의 민주적 가치를 확보하기 위해 기록화의 범위와 아카이브의 영역을 확장하여 다양한 공동체의 기억을 아카이브의 체계 속으로 편입하고 보존하기 위한 다양한 노력을 시도하고 있다. 또한, 이러한 노력은 공동체의 참여를 통해 그 의미와 가치를 더욱 구체적으로 실현할 수 있을 것이다. 이에 공동체와 기록은 웹 환경을 기반으로 공동체 구성원들이 직접 기록화에 참여할 수 있는 참여형 아카이브에 주목하게 되었다. 따라서 웹상에 구축되는 참여형 아카이브의 경우 아카이브의 이용자와 공동체 구성원들의 참여를 통해 만들어지는 공간으로서 이들의 참여 가능성을 높일 수 있는 다양한 참여방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 그동안 기록관리 분야에서 활발하게 연구되지 않았던 대안학교를 대상으로 대안학교 아카이브 구축을 위한 참여형 기록관리 방안을 살펴보고자 한다. 대안학교는 일반 제도권 학교와 달리 각 학교가 추구하는 교육철학과 이념에 따라 각기 다른 교육활동을 실천하면서 저마다의 특정한 가치와 정체성을 공유하고 있는 공동체적 특성이 강한 집단이라 할 수 있다. 기록의 수집은 대안학교 아카이브를 구축하기 위해 일차적으로 수행되어야 하는 작업이라 할 수 있다. 아카이브를 지원하는 모든 기능은 수집된 기록물의 범위를 넘어설 수 없다. 따라서 기록물의 수집 여하에 따라 향후 아카이브의 가치와 방향이 결정된다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 수집활동에 공동체 구성원들이 참여한다면 공동체 구성원들의 참여를 통해 수집된 기록물들은 공동체의 기억과 정체성을 대변할 수 있는 기록이 될 것이다. 이에 대안학교 아카이브를 구축하기 위한 참여형 기록물 수집 방안으로 도큐멘테이션 전략을 수립하는 과정에 공동체 구성원들이 더욱 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 방안을 제안해보았다. 수집 로드맵 작성을 통해 기존의 수집단계에서 수집하는 행위를 중심으로 이루어졌던 참여를 수집 전 단계까지 확장한다면 공동체 구성원들의 참여범위를 넓히고, 효율적인 수집활동을 벌일 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 대안학교 아카이브를 구축하기 위해 대안학교 공동체 구성원들의 기억과 정체성을 대변할 수 있는 기록을 수집하는 활동에 구성원들이 더욱 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 참여형 기록물 수집 방안에 관하여 연구하였다. 이후 대안학교 아카이브의 기록물 분류, 정리, 기술, 보존, 활용, 서비스 등의 영역에서도 공동체 구성원들의 참여범위를 확장할 수 있는 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.
