본고는 외국인 고급 학습자들이 한국 문화를 올바르게 이해하고 문화 간 의사소통 능력을 향상하기 위한 효과적인 방법으로써 화폐를 활용한 문화 교육을 제안하고 이에 대한 교수요목의 ... 본고는 외국인 고급 학습자들이 한국 문화를 올바르게 이해하고 문화 간 의사소통 능력을 향상하기 위한 효과적인 방법으로써 화폐를 활용한 문화 교육을 제안하고 이에 대한 교수요목의 설계를 목적으로 하였다. 한국어 교육에서 문화 교육의 필요성이 인식되면서 문화 교육의 내용론과 방법론에 대해 꾸준히 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 그간의 연구들은 대부분 문화의 여러 내용들을 통합적 측면에서 다루었으며 하나의 매개를 이용하여 문화 교육을 시도한 연구는 드물다. 화폐는 단순히 물물 교환의 수단이 아니라 무엇보다도 한 나라의 특징을 잘 나타내주는 상징물로 문화 교육의 내용적 매개로서의 가치가 있다. 화폐를 통해서 그 나라의 인물, 자연, 건축물 등 많은 문화를 접할 수 있기 때문에 화폐를 활용하여 문화 교육을 하면 문화 교육의 폭도 넓힐 수 있고 학습자의 흥미도 높일 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 화폐 소재를 분류하여 각 분류에 따른 문화 요소 확장 기준을 세웠다. 이 기준을 근거로 구체적으로 화폐에 그려져 있는 그림 소재들 가운데 한국 문화로 볼 수 있는 화폐 소재들을 정리하되 화폐 소재로부터의 접근이 아닌 한국 경제 등 ‘화폐’라는 자체로 출발하여 화폐 외부적으로 봤을 때 한국 문화로 볼 수 있는 요소들과 한국어 교육에서 적용이 가능한 요소로 확정하였다. 이어서 문화 교수요목을 설계하기 위해 설계의 원리 및 절차를 살펴보고 기존의 어학당 부설 기관에서 나온 교재와 문화 교육 교재를 분석하여 본고의 교수요목 설계의 기초 연구로 삼았다. 또한 ‘문화 교육에 대한 학습자 요구 분석’, ‘수업 방식에 대한 학습자 요구 분석’, ‘화폐 소재에 대한 학습자 요구 분석’과 '화폐 외부 내용에 대한 학습자 요구 분석’으로 나누어 학습자들의 요구를 알아보았다. 이를 바탕으로 문화 교육의 목적 및 목표 설정의 기준을 참고하여 화폐를 활용한 문화 교육 교수요목의 목적 및 목표를 설정하고 실제 교수요목을 설계하였다. 마지막으로 설계된 교수요목을 이용해 실제 한국어 교육에서 활용할 수 있는 수업 모형도 제시하였는데 단순히 교실 내에서의 지식 전달 중심의 수업 방식이 아닌 한국의 중앙은행인 한국은행 화폐박물관을 이용하는 등 학습자가 직접 체험하고 참여할 수 있는 방향으로 진행하여 화폐 문화 교육을 이루고자 하였다. 이러한 화폐 문화 교육을 통해 학습자들이 한국 경제, 한국 역사적인 인물, 한국 동식물 등 다양한 한국 문화를 이해하며 학습자들의 모국 화폐, 세계 화폐와 비교하면서 문화에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓힐 수 있도록 한다.

The purpose of this is to help foreigners who study advanced Korean understand Korean culture accurately and improve the ability of inter-cultural communication. Thus a useful method that implement cultural education through making flexible use of currency is presented and it is designed in the form of syllabus. On Korean education, the necessity of cultural education would be understood. Meanwhile, the continuously study on the content and methodology of cultural education would be realized. However, most of previous studies are operated on the layer of integration of various cultures. It is rare that study cultural education just through using only one medium. Currency is not just a kind of simple means of exchange. Besides, it is a symbol which can reveal country's features and it is valuable for the study of cultural education. Through the currency, we can master the information of the country's figures, nature, construction and any other cultures. Therefore, if we implement cultural education through making flexible use of currency, the rage of cultural education will become widely. At the same time, it will also promote the interests of learners. This study will classify the currency and set up the standard of expanding cultural element according to it. Through the pictures on the currency, we can learn more about Korean culture, but in stead of studying on the layer of currency pictures, we start with studying some external factors like economy to observe if the cultural factors are suitable in Korean education. And then, in order to design the cultural syllabus, the theory and procedure of design will be examined, existing textbooks of language institute should be compared with textbooks of cultural education and finally we can complete the foudamental research of the syllabus. Moreover, through dividing it into several parts such as "analysis on the demand of cultural education", "analysis on the demand of study style", "analysis on the demand of currency pictures" and "analysis on the demand of currency's external contents" to understand the demand of learners. On the basis of it, through referring to the purpose of cultural education and setting up the standard, we can work out the syllabus of making flexible use of currency and obtain the real syllabus. Finally, through using the syllabus, the teaching model will be presented in the actual Korean education. It is not only the teaching method which focus on imparting knowledge in the classroom, but also through using Korea central bank(Bank of Korea Museum) to let learners experienced by themselves and realize the cultural education of currency. Therefore through the cultural education of currency, learners will understand more about multiple Korean cultures such as economy of South Korea, historical figures in South Korea, flora and fauna and so on.
