신체어휘를 사용한 관용표현은 인간의 내적, 심리적면이 함축되어 표현되기 때문에 의미를 직접적으로 이해하기가 매우 어렵다. 이러한 관용표현은 원래의 의미에서 파생되거나 비유적, 상징적 의미를 나타내기 때문에 한국어 어휘 교육에서 중요하게 다뤄야 할 영역이다. 특히 중국인 한국어 학습자의 경우 한자어로 구성된 신체 관련 관용어를 학습함에 있어서 용이할 수도 있지만 전혀 다른 의미와 문화적 배경을 가지고 있는 부분도 존재하기 때문에 체계적인 학습이 필요하다.
이 논문은 총 5장으로 구성되었는데 각 장에서 논의한 내용을 정리하여 제시하면 다음과 같다.
제1장에서는 본 논문에 대한 연구 목적, 연구 방법을 제시하고 선행연구를 살펴보았다.
제2장에서는 한국어 및 중국어에서의 관용표현의 개념을 살펴보고 본 연구에서 다루게 될 관용표현의 개념을 정의하였다.
제3장에서 한국어 부위별 신체어휘 관용표현에 대한 의미적 해석을 통해 중국어와의 대응표현을 대조 분석하였다. 부위별 신체어휘 관용표현에 대한 전반적인 대조를 통해 한·중 신체어의 기본 의미 및 확장 의미에 해당하는 관용표현의 공통점과 차이점을 정리하였다.
제4장에서는 대조 분석 결과를 통해, 양국 언어의 신체어휘 관용표현에서 내포된 문화적, 인지적 요인을 분석하였다.
본고에서는 선행연구와 사전 등 자료를 기반으로 관용표현의 개념 및 중국어 관용표현의 개념을 제시하고 한국어 신체어휘 관용표현 목록을 추출하였다. 그리고 한국어 신체부위별 관용표현의 양상을 관찰하고 중국어에서의 대응 표현을 살펴보았다. 대조분석 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어의 신체어휘 관용표현은 신체어휘의 기능에 주목하지만 중국어의 경우 기능뿐만 아니라 변화과정, 또는 결과를 반영하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 한국어와 중국어에서의 관용표현은 신체어휘가 기본의미를 나타낼 경우 비슷한 양상을 보이고 있으나 반면에 파생 의미 또는 확장의미를 나타낼 경우 다양한 대응양상을 보였다. 셋째, 중국어에서는 음절을 중요시하는 언어로서 단음절어로 쓰이는 경우가 많으며 단음절 한자어를 사용하여 사자성어를 구성하는 용례가 많이 나타났다. 넷째, 신체어휘 기능에 대한 인식이 다르다.
이러한 차이점은 한·중 신체어휘 관용표현에 내재된 문화적 요인을 통해 그 원인을 찾아 볼 수 있다. 원인을 제시하면 첫째, 신체어휘 관용표현에 있어서 한국어는 부위별 신체어휘의 기본의미, 즉 기능에 입각하여 표현하고 있는데 중국어는 파생된 의미, 기능을 중요시하게 생각한다. 둘째, 한국어에서 신체어휘 관용표현은 기능어로서의 함축적 의미를 추상적으로 표현하는데 반해 중국어에서는 상대적으로 기능적인 면을 강조하여 구체적으로 표현하고 있다. 셋째, 한국어 신체어휘 관용표현 중 일부는 문화적 기원을 바탕으로 하는 표현이 존재한다. 넷째, 한국어에는 인격 및 체면을 중시하는 신체어휘 관용표현이 있다.
궁극적으로 본 연구에서 추출한 한중 관용표현 대조 목록은 실제 수업 현장에서 한국어 교사와 중국인 학습자들에게 유용한 자료로 쓰여 한국어 학습자의 언어 습득과 사용에 도움을 주고자 한다. 나아가 향후 한국어 관용표현 등급 선정 및 번역 등 다양한 영역에서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Idiomatic expressions using words referring to body imply people’s internal and psychological sides in its expression and it is extremely hard to grasp their meaning directly. They refer to something derived from the original meaning or figurative or symbolic so they require a great deal of attention in Korean vocabulary education. Particularly, Chinese students of Korean can easily learn idioms related to body composed of Chinese characters, but they need a systematic program of study due to entirely different meanings and a cultural background in some part.
This is composed of a total of five chapters and summaries of discussions in each chapter are as follows.
The first chapter introduces a research purpose and method of this and reviews preceding researches.
The second chapter examines concepts of idiomatic expressions in Korean and Chinese and defines a concept of idiomatic expressions that is covered in this research.
The third chapter conducts a comparative analysis of Chinese corresponding expressions through a semantic interpretation of Korean idiomatic expressions of words referring to body. An overall contrast of idiomatic expressions of words referring to different body parts will outline similarities and differences of idiomatic expressions that are the basic and derivative meanings of words referring to body in Korean and Chinese.
The fourth chapter analyzes cultural and cognitive factors contained in idiomatic expressions of words referring to body of both countries through the result of comparative study.
This proposes concepts of idiomatic expressions and Chinese idiomatic expressions based on the data such as preceding researches and dictionaries and extracted a list of Korean idiomatic expressions of words referring to body. It also examined patterns of Korean idiomatic expressions of words referring to body and their Chinese correspondents. The research is intended to compare Chinese counterparts to Korean idiomatic expressions of words referring to body and how they interact with each other. A list of corresponding expressions for each body part will show the similarities and differences in the idiomatic expressions of both countries. The list will prove to be a useful material for Korean teachers and Chinese students and help students of Korean to learn and use the language. Furthermore, it will be utilized in various fields including classification of Korean idiomatic expressions and translation.
