This thesis’s objective is focusing on the comparison and analysis of the metaphor expressions which are found in Economic magazines. Different from other researches whose subjects mainly are for people from English speaking countries, this research’s purpose is for Vietnamese learners who are interested in Korean. This thesis will not only introduce the similarity and the differences between Vietnamese and Korean in Economic field, but also the similarity and the differences of both countries’ s fundamental tradition and culture. With this thesis, not only it can help Vietnamese learners in studying Korean but also can give Korean professors good resources for their researches in Vietnamese.
Because of being based on the Conceptual metaphor research, this thesis’s discussion will be viewed under the cognitive linguistics view and also in order to solve the problems made by the restrictions of this theory, this thesis will also consult the ‘Mental Space Theory’ and ‘Conceptual Blending Theory’.
After collecting all the resources from Economic magazines for all the possible metaphor examples, in this thesis I will divide them into 4 groups: metaphors related to space, metaphors related to nature and objects, metaphors related to human’s life, human’s organism.
In the first group ‘metaphor related to space’, they can be divided into 4 domains which are ‘over-beneath’, ‘in front-behind’, ‘left-right’, ‘inside-outside’.
The second group ‘nature and objects’, they can be divided into 4 source domains which are ‘ecosystem’, ’weather, heat and cold’, ‘communication’, ‘ building and construction’ The third group’ metaphor related to human’s life’, they can be divided into 3 source domains which are ‘wars’, ‘games and sports’, ‘ food and cook’ The fourth group ’metaphor related to human’s organism’, they can be divided into 2 source domains which are ‘human’s body’ and ‘health care’.
By using the resource from this thesis which mainly is the comparisons and analysis of the metaphors found in economic magazines and through all the experience of human all around the world, researchers might be able to make and express metaphors for all the universal definition of economic phenomenon. This thesis will show how to define a metaphor in Korean and Vietnamese and not only show the similar but also the different features of both languages which are made because of difference in geography, history or cultures… between two countries.
Also, in Korean education, this thesis’s result has the following meaning:
First, it helps to concretize the language researching subject, language learning purpose and specific field.
Second, it is useful for researching on the education in language translating from Korean to Vietnamese or Vietnamese to Korean.
Third, it is used as a source reference for further understanding the culture between two nations and from that it can help language learners study Korean more easily.
With this thesis, I hope that it can be helpful in researching on the language between Vietnam and Korea.

이 논문의 목적은 바로 구체적인 분야로서 경제학에 관한 은유를 집중적으로 분석하는 것이다. 특히 수많은 경제학에 관한 문서 중에 빠른 속도로 언어의 변화가 이루어지는 경제기사문을 대상으로 분석, 연구하고자 한다. 한국과 베트남의 우호적 관계로 문화·사회·경제적 교류가 활발해짐에 따라 한국어를 배우는 베트남 학습자가 많아지고 특히 경제분야에 관심이 많은 베트남 학습자나 한국 대학교에서 경제학을 공부할 베트남 학생들을 위하여 한국어와 베트남어의 비교 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 이에 따라 이 논문은 영어권을 위주로 한 수많은 연구와 다르게 베트남 학습자를 위하여 경제기사문에 나타나는 한국어와 베트남어의 은유표현을 비교, 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 분석의 결과로 경제기사문에 나타나는 한국어와 베트남어의 은유표현의 공통점과 차이점을 확인할 수 있으며, 나아가 이 연구 결과를 기반으로 양국 간의 문화적인 공통점과 차이점을 유추할 수 있다고 본다. 이 본 논문을 통해서 한국어를 학습하는 베트남인뿐만 아니라 베트남학습자를 위한 한국어 교수법의 연구에 도움이 되리라 생각한다.
위에 논의했던 연구 목적에 따라사 본 논문의 내용은 다음과 같습니다
이 논문은 은유 연구의 바탕에 있어 인지론적 견해가 바탕인 개념적 은유로 논의한다. 개념적 은유는 기본구조로 ‘X는 Y이다’라는 이원적 구조를 가지며 개념적인 은유를 근원영역과 목표영역의 사상 관게로 분석한다.
이논문은 자료 수집 결과로 경제기사문에 나타난 은유를 네 개의 상위 근원영역인 ‘공간, 자연과 물체, 인간 생활, 인간의 신체’로 분류한다. 각각의 영역에 하위적인 근원영역을 분류하여 해당 하위 영역에서 한국어 기사문과 베트남어 기사문에 나타난 은유표현을 비교하였다.
첫째 ‘공간 관련 은유’에서는 방향적인 개념으로 ‘위- 아래’, ‘앞- 뒤’, ‘오른쪽- 왼쪽’, ‘안-밖’ 등 네 가지 영역으로 분류하였다.
둘째 ‘자연과 물체’는 상위 근원영역의 하위 근원영역으로 ‘생태계, 날씨 및 열과 차가움’ , ‘교통편’, ‘건물과 건설’의 네 가지로 분류하엿다.
셋째 ‘인간 생활 관련 은유’는 상위 근원영역의 하위 근원영역으로 ‘전쟁’, ‘게임과 스포츠’, ‘음식과 요리’ 세 가지로 분류하였다.
넷째 ‘인간의 생체 관련 은유’는 상위 근원영역의 하위 근원영역으로 ‘인간의 신체’, ‘건강 관리’로 분류 분석하였다.
본 논문에서는 경제기사를 중심으로 두 문화권에서 사용되는 은유를 비교 분석한 결과로 세계 공통적 개념인 경제현상을 인간의 모든 경험을 통하여 생생하게 은유하여 표현한다고 본다. 즉, 공간에 대한 경험, 자연과 물체 속에 존재하는 생태계, 날씨, 교통편, 건물과 건축 등에 관한 경험, 인간 생활이 반영된 전쟁, 게임과 스포츠, 요리와 음식에 관한 경험, 아니면 인간 스스로의 모습을 반영한 신체와 건강에 관련된 경험들로 경제에 관한 모든 면을 은유하여 표현한다. 한국어와 베트남어 경제 기사문에 나타난 은유표현들은 공통적인 개념으로 형성되며 많은 공통적인 특징을 보여주지만 각각의 문화와 역사 그리고 지리적 차이 등으로 인한 색다른 특징 및 차이점을 보여준다.
본 연구의 결과는 한국어 교육에 대하여 다음과 같은 의미가 있다
첫째, 한국어 은유표현을 연구의 토대로 하나 선행 연구와 달리 영어를 위주로 하는 것이 아닌 베트남어를 기반으로 하여 연구를 이루었으며, 언어 생활에서의 여러 분야 중 특히 경제 분야에 관련된 은유 표현에 대한 연구이므로 한국어 교육에서 더욱 구체적으로 언어학습 대상과 학습목적, 분야별 언어 학습 등을 고려한 연구라 할 수 있다.
둘째, 경제 관련 은유 표현에 대하여 한국어와 베트남어를 분류, 분석함으로써 베트남인으로 하여 한국어의 교육 학습 과정에 참고 자료가 될 수 있으며, 특히 양국가간 번역 및 통역 등의 교육에 도움이 될 거라 사료된다.
셋째, 은유를 연구하기에 인지언어학 견지에서 유추한 개념적인 은유를 연구의 기반으로 삼아 은유는 언어만의 문제가 아니라 인간의 사고 과정인 인지와도 관련된 것으로 본다. 이에 따라서 본문의 연구 결과로 한국 문화권과 베트남 문화권의 공통점과 차이점 및 각 언어권의 문화 특성을 살필 수 있어 양국의 문화적 이해를 위한 보조 자료로 활용하여 한국어 교육 학습에 있어 효율성을 가미할 수 있다.
이 논문을 통하여 경제 기사문에 사용된 한국어와 베트남어의 은유표현들의 특징을 보여주고 두 나라 상호 간의 언어 비교 분석에 도움이 될 수 있기를 바란다.
