본 논문은 영어권 학습자들이 한국어를 학습할 때 발음 오류가 무엇인지 알아보고, 한국어와 영어의 발음 차이에 근거하여 멀티미디어를 활용한 효율적인 발음 교육 방법에 대해서 논의하였다.
제 1장에서는 한국어 교육에 대한 선행 연구를 분석하고, 연구의 범위와 방법을 제한하였다.
제 2장에서는 한 ․ 미의 발음 차이를 알아보았다. 한국어와 영어의 단모음과 이중모음을 비교하여 보았는데, 한국어와 영어의 모음 구성 체계가 다름을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 발음 오류 유형과 발음 연습 유형을 제시하였다.
제 3장에서는 정보화 사회에 걸맞게 개정 7차 교육과정에서도 ‘매체’교육의 중요성이 대두됨에 따라, 매체 교육에 대해서 알아보았다.
제 4장에서는 매체를 구체적으로 활용할 수 있도록 멀티미디어를 활용한 교수-학습에 대해서 알아보았다. 학습자의 자기주도적 학습을 가능하게 하는 멀티미디어의 실제 활용을 위해서, 멀티미디어를 활용한 교수-학습 형태, 교육적 효과, 제한점을 알아보았다.
제 5장에서는 제 2장, 제 3장, 제 4장을 바탕으로 한국어 교육을 위한 교수-학습을 제시하였다. 우선 최근의 외국어 교수-학습 경향을 알아보았고, 한국어 교육의 원리를 제시하였다. 이를 적용하여 학습지도안의 원리에 따라 한국어 교육을 위한 학습지도안을 제시하였다. 마지막에는 학습지도안을 실제 활용하는 한국어 교사의 역할을 제시하였다.
본 연구를 통해 세계화 ․ 정보화 시대에 걸맞게 한국어를 효율적으로 교수-학습하여, 세계 속에 한국의 위상을 더욱 높일 수 있기를 바란다.

This study focuses on finding the errors that English-speaking learners experience when they learn the Korean language, and discussing the effective pronunciation-educating methods based on the difference in pronunciation between Korean and English.
The Chapter 1 deals with the analysis of the precedented research about the education of the Korean language and the range and method of research.
The Chapter 2 is about the difference in pronunciation between Korean and English. The patterns of pronunciation errors and pronunciation practices are suggested. The study about short vowels and diphthong of the two languages shows that the systems of vowel formation are different.
The Chapter 3 focuses on media education which is getting more and more important even in the seventh revised education curriculum in accordance with Information Society.
The Chapter 4 addresses the teaching-learning methods using multi-media systems which enable students to study self-initiatively, educational effectiveness, and limitations.
The Chapter 5 is about the teaching-learning methods for the education of the Korean language on the basis of the Chapter 2, 3, and 4. The last chapter deals with the recent tendency of teaching-learning methods of foreign languages and suggests the principles of the education of the Korean language and the teaching guidances based on those principles. The practical roles of Korean teachers using teaching guidances are also suggested.
It is expected that the study will be a cornerstone to upgrade the position of Korea in the world through teaching and learning the Korean language in accordance with the age of globalization and information.
