일본어는 한국어와 문법적 구조가 비슷하고, 같은 한자 문화권에 속해 있는 언어로 여러 가지 면에서 한국인 학습자들에게 유리한 점이 많다. 그러나 이와 같은 이점으로 일본어를 배우려는 학습자는 늘고 있는 반면, 초급에서 중급으로 이어지는 단계에서 중도하차하는 사례들이 비일비재 하다. 그 이유 중 하나는 한자학습의 어려움이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 문제의 원인을 현행 일본어 커리큘럼과 학습자들이 의존하는 교재에 주안을 두고 초급 일본어 학습자를 위한 한자 어휘 선정 및 지도방안을 제시하였다. 1장에서는 한·일 양국의 한자정책을 비교하여, 양국 한자정책의 변천과 오늘날 한국인 일본어 학습자들이 한자를 어려워하는 원인에 대해 살펴보았다. 2장에서는 초급 일본어 학습자에게 적합한 한자 어휘선정을 위해「일본어 능력시험 3급」한자 범위 내에서 2자 음독 한자어를 추출하여 이를「기본어휘」로 제시하였다. 또 추출한「기본어휘」를 한국 한자어와 의미적인 측면에서 同義語彙, 類似語彙, 相異語彙로 세 가지로 분류하여 지도 시 주의 사항에 관해 논하였다. 그리고 3장에서는 2장에서 추출한「기본어휘」를 어떻게 가르칠 것인가에 관한 지도방안을 제시하였다. 지도방안으로는 학습자의 동기와 흥미 유발에 중점을 두어 시각적 효과를 활용한 자습용 문제 모형과 한자어 카드 게임을 제시하였다. 본고에서 제시한「기본어휘」및 지도방안은 앞으로 초급 일본어 한자 어휘교육에 있어 난이도 설정 및 교재 개발 시 참고자료로 활용이 가능하리라 생각한다. 그러나 앞으로의 논의에서는 더욱더 다양한 측면에서 한자 어휘 방법에 관한 연구 및 학습자의 어휘습득에 관한 연구들이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

The Japanese language is easy to learn for Korean, for it is similar to Korean language in grammatical structure and both languages are close to the Chinese language. Such similarity increases the number of those who begin to study Japanese. By the way, the decrease of usage of Chinese language in everyday life in korea makes It hard to upgrade from primary grade and intermediate grade.
This focuses on the current Japanese curriculum and text books which many students depend on. In addition this presents the method to select and teach the Chinese characters for beginners. In chapter 1, the regulations for the Chinese characters of both countries(Korea and Japan) is compared. And I looked into the processes of changes in the regulations and the reasons why Korean learner who study Japanese have trouble with the Chinese characters. In chapter 2, to select the appropriate Chinese characters for beginners, I extracted two character words which are composed of two characters within the range of JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and cited theses words as basic words. In chapter 3, I presented the methods to teach the basic words extracted in the previous chapter.
This study suggests two methods, which promote the motive and interest in studying Japanese. The one is self-study model, which leaners can use without teacher. Another is Chinese character card game, which have visual effect.The basic words and teaching method presented by this study will be used as the standard to set the degree of the difficulty in teaching the Chinese characters of the primary Japanese and references to develop the text book. This study, however, has limitations because the selection of the basic words was limited to two character words and the effects of the results of this study were not estimated. So, an assortment of methods from various points of view on Chinese characters should be examined and the study on the achievement of words should be carried out hereafter.
