여성결혼 이민자가 증가함에 따라 그들의 사회통합 문제는 한국사회의 관심사로 떠오르고 있다. 이들은 새로운 한국사회로 이주한 후 주변인의 위치에서 적응의 어려움과 심리적, 정서적인... 여성결혼 이민자가 증가함에 따라 그들의 사회통합 문제는 한국사회의 관심사로 떠오르고 있다. 이들은 새로운 한국사회로 이주한 후 주변인의 위치에서 적응의 어려움과 심리적, 정서적인 혼란을 겪는다. 이러한 환경 속에서 자원봉사활동에 참여하는 이유가 무엇인지 다음과 같은 연구문제를 수행하였다. 한국사회 적응 과정을 통한 자원봉사 참여 동기와 자원봉사 참여 경험이 학습과 삶에 어떤 도움을 주었는지 분석하였다. 또한, 교육적 효과를 검토하였으며, 자원봉사 참여 기회를 증진하는 일에 기여하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 자원봉사활동 경험의 과정에서 나타나는 변화의 양상을 탐색하기에 유용한 질적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 대상자는 7년 이상 수도권 지역에서 자녀와 함께 거주하고 있으며, 의사소통이 가능한 여성결혼 이민자들이다. 베트남 여성 6명, 중국 여성 3명, 일본 여성 3명, 필리핀 여성 2명으로 모두 14명을 선정하였다. 2015년 11월부터 2016년 5월까지 2회에서 4회에 걸쳐 심층면담을 하였으며, 매번 2시간에서 3시간이 소요되었다. 이 과정을 통하여 분석된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자원봉사 참여 동기를 분석한 결과, 이주 초기 주변인의 위치에서 적응의 어려움을 겪으며, 새로운 삶의 개척과 한국사회에 안정적인 정착을 하였다. 이를 기반으로 삶의 교류를 통하여 정보의 중요성을 인식하였으며, 사회활동 참여를 하면서 자신이 성장하기를 바랐다. 또한, 미래지향적 삶을 기대하며 자원봉사에 참여하였다. 둘째, 자원봉사 참여 동기를 기반으로 하여 분석한 교육적 효과의 분석결과, 한국어 수준 향상과 적극적인 삶의 자세를 정립하였으며, 학습의 중요성을 인식하였다. 또한, 자녀 양육과 교육에 대한 부모 역할의 중요성을 알게 되었으며, 대학공부와 배움에 대한 열정을 갖게 되었다. 사람들과 상호작용을 통해서 배우고 학습하며, 자신을 성장시키는 자원봉사활동 경험은 교육적 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자원봉사활동 경험에 의한 삶의 기여도를 분석한 결과, 사회적 관계망이 확장되었고 가족 및 주위의 인정으로 자신감이 회복되었으며, 자아실현과 성취감을 느끼게 되었다. 이로 인하여 역할수행이 향상되었고 삶이 변화되었으며, 성공적인 삶을 위한 토대를 마련하는 것으로 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과에서 자원봉사 경험을 통한 다양한 경험이 학습으로 이어지고 삶에 도움을 주어 교육적 효과가 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 이는 미래의 한국사회 발전의 원동력이 되어 안정적인 사회정착과 사회통합을 끌어낼 수 있는 근원이 된다. 따라서 자원봉사 참여 기회를 증진하기 위한 실천적 방안을 뒷받침할 수 있는 정책적 제도가 마련되어야 할 필요가 있다.

Since the population of ‘married immigrant women’ has increased, their social integration is now a huge issue in Korean society. Married immigrant women experience difficulty adapting to other people around them and they go through psychological confusion after they immigrate to Korea because it is a new society for them. A study reviewed the reasons why married immigrant women participated in volunteering service despite their difficult circumstances and the research problems are as follows. The research analyzed how motive to volunteer in order to adapt to Korean society and volunteering experience help their learning and life. An educational effect was also reviewed and this research tries to increase the opportunity of voluntary service. The study employed qualitative research methods, which are useful for researching the aspect of transition during volunteering experiences. The subjects in this study were married immigrant women who lived in urban areas for over 7 years, could speak Korean and had children. The subjects in this study were fourteen married immigrant women who resided in and around Seoul. They were from Vietnam, China, Japan, and the Philippines. From November 2015 to May 2016, the subjects were asked to join in-depth interview (2-4 times; 2-3 hours per time). The result of the survey and analysis is as follows. First, as a result of analyzing their motive to volunteer, it was found that they had a hard time adapting to the surroundings but paved their life and successfully settled down in Korean society. Based on this success, they wanted to develop themselves through taking a part in many social activities and recognized the importance of information through interacting with others. They participated in voluntary services anticipating their future-oriented life. Second, the result of educational effect based on the analysis of married immigrant women’s motive to volunteer found that these women recognized the importance of the enhancement of Korean language skills, reestablishment of an enthusiastic lifestyle, and education. Also, married immigrant women recognized the importance of the role of parents in education and got a passion for college study and learning. A voluntary service which helps them interact with others and develop themselves revealed that it has an educational effect. Third, according to the analysis of the contribution ratio of life which volunteering participation has, the social relation network was extended and their self-confidence was recovered by recognition from family or people, therefore, married immigrant women reach self-realization and feel a sense of achievement. For this reason, their role performance has been improved, their life has been changed in a positive way, and they set the foundation of the lives of marriage-based immigrants. The result of this study corroborated the educational effect that various experiences doing volunteer service led to learning and provided a help in the lives of married immigrant women. This result is the driving force of future Korean society, which is the root of stable settlement and integration into society.
