본 논문은 한국인들이 친족관계 및 지역특성에 대한 문화적 배경지식을 조사하고 그런 특성으로 인해 어떤 함축이 발생하는지를 대화함축사례를 통해서 살펴보았다. 대화함축을 유발하는 ... 본 논문은 한국인들이 친족관계 및 지역특성에 대한 문화적 배경지식을 조사하고 그런 특성으로 인해 어떤 함축이 발생하는지를 대화함축사례를 통해서 살펴보았다. 대화함축을 유발하는 요소는 매우 다양하다. 그중에서 문화적 배경지식도 매우 중요한 요소가 된다. 대화에서 발화 문장의 축자적인 의미를 모두 이해하고 또한 언어적 맥락과 상황맥락을 모두 충족한 경우에도 추론 불가능한 대화함축들이 존재한다. 그러한 대화함축들은 문화적 배경지식으로부터 생성되었으며 대화함축 추론 과정에 핵심적인 역할을 하고 있다. 따라서 이 논문은 문화적 배경지식으로부터 생성된 대화함축을 살펴보기 위해 한국의 문화적 특성을 가장 잘 반영할 수 있는 친족관계 및 지역특성을 중심으로 연구해보기로 했다. 따라서 이 논문은 다음과 같이 진행되었다. 먼저 제 2 장에서 Grice의 함축이론을 기준으로 대화함축의 특성을 살펴보았다. Grice가 대화함축에 대한 정의와 특정 대화함축과 일반 대화함축에 대한 차이점의 검토를 통해 일반 대화함축과 특정 대화함축은 사회·문화적 맥락을 항상 기반이 되어야 하는 점은 같으나 함축을 추론하는 과정은 다르다는 것을 밝혔다. 따라서 대화함축은 문화와 불가분한 관계를 가지고 있다. 제 3 장은 본격적으로 한국인이 친족관계 및 지역특성에 대한 배경지식을 인식조사를 통해서 살펴보았다. 합리적인 설문조사를 하기 위해 우선 기존문헌에서 연구한 바가 있는 지를 살펴보았다. 살펴본 결과는 한국 친족문화에 대한 연구는 체계적으로 이루어졌지만, 지역별 특성에 대한 체계적인 연구는 거의 없었다. 따라서 설문문항을 설정하는 방법은 두 가지를 취하기로 했다. 먼저, 한국 친족관계에 관한 설문문항은 기존연구를 토대로 선정하였고, 지역별 특성에 관한 문항은 예비조사를 실시하여 응답수와 응답빈도가 높은 특성을 기준으로 설문문항을 작성한 후 2차 설문을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 두 설문 결과 중에 공감율이 높은 문항을 한국인의 문화적 배경지식으로 설정하였다. 마지막으로 제 4 장에서 드라마 대본, 영화대본, 시놉시스, 리얼리티 프로그램, 네이버 블로그, 카페 대화내용, 트위터 등을 통해서 대화함축표현 54개 사례를 추출하여 앞장에서 분석한 문화적 배경지식들을 토대로 대화함축을 분석해보았다. 이상의 연구를 통해 얻은 시사점으로 한국어 함축 연구의 새로운 방향을 제시할 수 있었고, 또한 한국어 교육에 있어서 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 거라 믿는다.

This thesis examines the cultural background of Korean family relationships and regional characteristics and how such aspects generate implications through conventional implicature occurred in conversations. There are various factors which triggers conventional implicature. Cultural background is an important factor. There are conventional implicatures in conversation which cannot be inferred even when the listener understands the literal meaning of the subject or they meet the language and circumstantial context. Those implicatures are originated from cultural backgrounds, in which they play a key role in the process of inference. Therefore, this thesis examines the family relationship and regional characteristics, to figure out conventional implicatures in conversation from cultural background. This thesis has three structures through second to fourth chapter.. First, it will inspect the characteristics of conventional implicatures in conversations by the implicature theory of Grice. Grice provided definition of conversational implicature and studied the difference between certain conversational implicature and ordinary implicature. He found out that both ordinary implicature and certain conversational implicature must be grounded on social and cultural background, but the processes of inference are different. Therefore, conversational implicatures are inseparable from the culture. The third chapter will examine the Korean family relationships and regional characteristics through surveys. The search for existing reference in order to conduct a reasonable survey was made, but it was found out that there were systematic researches on Korean family relationships, but not on regional characteristics. There were two ways to make questionnaire. Questions for family relations are settled based on existing studies and those for regional characteristics are made on preliminary research. Questions which received more responses more frequently are put together to make the second survey. Finally, the questionnaire which received the highest rate of sympathy was settled as cultural background of Korean people. Lastly, there is an analysis of conventional implicatures in conversation based on cultural backgrounds discussed previous chapters. There are 54 examples of conversational implicatures from film and drama scripts, synopsis, reality programs on TV, blog postings, conversations in café, and twitts.
