본 논문은 재외동포 청소년 학습자를 대상으로 효율적인 한자어 교육 방안을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 이것은 재외동포 교육의 중요한 목표 중 하나인 모국 이해 교육에 기여하는 교육정책에 부응하고자 하는 방안의 일환이다. 이러한 목적에 따라 본 논문은 재외동포 청소년 학습자들의 모국 이해 교육을 위한 한자·한자어 교육과 관련해 다음과 같은 논의에 초점을 맞추며 진행하였다.
첫째, 재외동포 교육의 목표를 파악한다.
둘째, 재외동포 청소년의 특징을 언급하고, 재외동포 청소년
대상의 모국 이해 교육 방향을 제시한다.
셋째, 한자·한자어 교육의 개념과 범위를 파악한다.
넷째, 한자어의 특성과 한자 및 한자어 교육의 필요성을 언급
한다.
다섯째, 한자 및 한자어 교육 목록과 내용의 선정 기준 및 선
정 과정을 기술한다.
여섯째, 한자 및 한자어 교육 방안을 제시한다.
위와 같은 논의에 초점을 두고, 재외동포 청소년 학습자의 모국 이해 교육에 기여하는 효율적인 한자 및 한자어 교육방안 연구를 위한 구체적인 연구 내용을 각 장 별로 언급하면 다음과 같다.
1장에서는 연구의 목적 및 연구 내용의 범위를 기술하고, 재외동포 교육과 관련된 선행 연구와 한자 및 한자어 교육과 관련된 선행 연구를 살펴본 후 본 논문의 전반적인 방향을 제시하였다.
2장에서는 재외동포 현황과 재외동포 교육의 목표에 관해 살펴보고, 재외동포 청소년의 특징과 모국 이해 교육의 방향을 제시해 보았다. 한자 및 한자어 교육의 개념과 범위를 알아보고, 한자어 특성을 살펴보며 한자 및 한자어 교육의 필요성을 기술하였다.
3장에서는 재외동포 청소년 학습자를 대상으로 할 한자 및 한자어 교육의 목록과 내용을 제시하며, 선정 교재 및 선정 기준과 과정을 기술하였다.
4장에서는 재외동포교육 목표에 기여하는 주제의 읽기 텍스트와 한자어 특성을 활용한 교수요목을 구성하고 수업 지도 사례를 제시하였다.
5장에서는 이제까지 본 논문의 연구 내용을 간략하게 정리하고 그 의의를 살펴보았으며, 본 논문의 한계점과 제언을 덧붙였다.

The main purpose of this research is to establish an efficient Chinese characters Education plans for Overseas Koreans Youth. It is part of a plan to meet the educational policies that contribute to the education of understanding mother country which is one of important goal of Overseas Koreans Education.
In accordance with this object, this research was carried out in conjunction with the Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word education for the education of understanding mother country for Oversea Koreans Youth Education learners. And it was focusing on the following items.
First, identify the objectives of the Overseas Koreans Education.
Second, refer to the characteristics of the Overseas Koreans Youth and propose direction for the education of understanding mother country for the Overseas Koreans Youth.
Third, identify the fundamentals and scope of the Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education.
Fourth, refer to the fundamental characteristics of the Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education among Korean Language studies.
Fifth, describe the selection and process of lists and contents in the Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education.
Lastly, propose implementation methods of Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education for Overseas Koreans Youth.
Detailed contents of this research for the efficient Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education plans that contribute to the education of understanding mother country for Overseas Koreans Youth Education learners, are shown by each chapter as below.
In Chapter 1, the researcher identified the overall direction of the research after reviewing the Overseas Koreans Education and Chinese character · Sino-Korean Word Education previous research, methods of inquiry, and evaluation of peer reviewed publications.
In Chapter 2, the current instructional paradigm and goals of Overseas Koreans Education were examined. The characteristics of Overseas Koreans Youth was studied. In addition, through the examination of fundamentals and scope of Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education and the characteristics of Sino-Korean Word, I mentioned the necessity of Chinese characters · Sino-Korean Word Education.
In Chapter 3, I presented a proposed list and recommended content of Chinese characters and Sino-Korean Word Education model targeting Overseas Koreans Youth learners in addition to referencing selected materials, criteria and processes for facilitating the learning process.
In Chapter 4, I presented the theme reading text and constructed the syllabus utilizing Chinese characters which are contribute to goals of Oversea Koreans Education. And I also introduced examples of teaching protocols.
In Chapter 5, I summarized all research works with meanings of this study. And, in addition, I pointed out limitations of this research and providing suggestions for additional research and study.
