This thesis aims to propose to utilize literary works for effective Korean language and culture education for children of multicultural family and suggest selection standard of educational literary works, and discuss a method to select literary works according to the foregoing standard. As for the scope of study, literary works includes traditional fairy tale and creative fairy tale centering on fairy tale which is a genre for children.
In Chapter 1, this thesis suggests objective and the necessity of study, and considers previous studies. In Chapter 2, this thesis understands the current state of culture education and looks into the present condition of literature education by analyzing textbooks for children of multicultural family. In Chapter 3, this thesis investigates literary works published in textbooks by making a list focusing on fairy tales the most-frequently shown in Chapter 2 and looks into the problems of them. This study revealed that utilization of literary works turned out to be low in most cases and selection standard was also vague without consideration of learners’ level, so establishment of a selection standard was important above all things. In Chapter 4, this thesis created a selection standard for traditional fairy tale and creative fairy tale suited for educating Korean language and culture amongst fairy tale genre. This thesis also suggested a list of traditional fairy tale and creative fairy tale according to the above selection standard.
This study has a different significance in the way that it prepared selection standard and listed texts for teaching Korean language and culture through literary texts.

본 논문은 다문화가정 자녀의 효과적인 한국어 교육 문화교육을 위하여 문학 작품을 활용할 것을 제안하면서 교육용 문학 작품 선정 기준을 제시하고 그에 따른 문학 작품을 선정하는 방안을 논의하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 문학 작품은 아동 대상의 장르인 동화를 중심으로 하여 전래동화와 창작동화를 연구의 범위로 정하기로 한다.
1장에서는 연구의 목적과 필요성을 제시하고 선행 연구들을 검토해 본다. 2장에서는 다문화가정 자녀를 위한 교재를 분석하여 문화교육의 현황을 파악해 보고 문학교육 현황을 살펴본다. 3장에서는 2장에서 가장 많은 빈도로 나타난 동화를 중심으로 교재에 실린 작품을 목록화 하여 살펴보고 그것들의 문제점을 파악한다. 대부분 문학 작품의 활용도가 낮았으며 선정 기준이 모호하고 학습자의 수준을 고려하지 않아 선정 기준을 정하는 것이 무엇보다 중요했다. 4장에서는 동화 장르 중에서도 한국어와 한국문화를 교육하기에 적합한 전래동화와 창작동화를 대상으로 선정기준을 마련하였다. 또한 이 선정 기준에 따라 전래동화와 창작동화의 목록을 제시하였다.
이 연구는 문학 텍스트를 통해 한국어와 한국 문화를 가르치고자 선정 기준을 마련하고 텍스트를 목록화했다는 점에 의의가 있다.
