본 연구는 한국어 교육에서 언어와 문화의 융합상태를 나타내는 개념으로 의사소통향상을 위한 문화적 측면을 언어문화로 보고자 한다는 기존 학자들의 견해에 동의하고, 실제적으로 이를 학습자들에게 교육할 수 있는 언어를 중심으로 한 한국어 문화 교재 개발을 목적으로 하고 있다.
본고 Ⅱ장에서는 한국어 교육에서의 문화 교육을 점검하고, 그 범위를 재고하여 언어를 중심으로 한 문화 교재의 필요성을 논하였다.
본고 Ⅲ장에서는 문화 교재의 내용 요소 추출을 위해 언어문화와 관련한 기존 논의를 반영하고, 최근 출간된 문화 교육용 문화 교재 분석을 통하여 대범주와 구체적인 소단원 범주를 설정하여 그 내용 설계안을 마련하였다. 한편, 문화 교재의 형식 구성은 한국어 학습자의 수준차를 고려하는 교재가 되어야 한다는 생각으로 기존 교재 속의 단원 구성 형식을 분석하고, 심화 · 보충을 통한 수준별 형식을 접목하여 그 구성안을 마련하였다.
본고 Ⅳ장에서는 Ⅲ장에서 마련한 내용과 형식 구성의 설계안을 바탕으로 인사표현을 유형화하여 실제 단원 모형을 제시하였다.
언어적 기능 습득을 중시한 문화 교재 속에 제시된 언어문화의 명확한 인식으로 한국어 학습자들은 목표어 사회, 문화를 이해하고, 목표어를 더욱 성실하게 사용하는데 노력을 기울일 것이라 생각한다. 현장의 교육적 요구에 부응하는 한국어 문화 교재 개발을 위한 보다 다양하고 구체적인 방안 모색은 다음 연구자들의 과제로 남기고자 한다.

This study was based on the view of the established scholars considering language as a cultural aspect for communication to indicate the integration of the language and culture in Korean language education. The aim of this study was to implement such theory and develop educational materials focusing on the language in teaching Korean.
In chapter II of the study, the education of culture in Korean language education was reviewed and its scope was reevaluated to discuss the necessity of the cultural study materials focused on the language.
In chapter III of the study, the existing discussions on language culture were reviewed to extract contents elements of the educational materials on culture. The main category and specific sub-categories were set and a design plan for their contents was devised based on the recently published cultural education materials. Furthermore, the chapter structure of the existing study materials was analyzed and a new structure was designed by integrating the formats for each level through in-depth and complementary studies, based on the philosophy that the format construction of the cultural education materials should be made in accordance with the different levels of learners of Korean.
In chapter IV, chapter models were presented in which the greeting expressions were classified based on the results of the chapter III and the design plan of the format construction.
By clearly recognizing language culture presented within the cultural education materials focused on the acquisition of linguistic competency, the Korean language learners can understand the society and culture of the target language and make more efforts to use the target language. Further studies should be made to develop more diverse and specific plans for designing cultural study materials for Korean language which correspond with the actual educational needs.
