This research gives a general introduction in the application of Korean textbooks at the universities in China at first. And then based on the analysis of Korean textbooks published in China, combined with the survey on the students, learning Korean language, this research gives a clear direction to how to better develop Korean textbooks for the Korean learner in China.
Textbook, Teacher and Learner constitute the main body of education. As one of the most important elements, textbook plays a vital role in deciding the education goal, content and method. The analysis on the existing textbooks published in China is mainly focused on these two textbooks:《standard Korean》and《Korean》. However, along with the development of domestic Korean education in China, more domestic learner-oriented Korean learning textbooks have been published. In addition, information is the basic requirement for the learner during the process of textbook development, but in the previous studies, no analysis has showed evidences from the students’ questionnaires. Therefore, this study is conducted based on the domestic Korean learner in the form of questionnaire, and based on the results from this study, recommendations are given on how to improve the content quality of Korean textbooks.
There are four main parts in this study. The first chapter introduces the purpose and methods used in this research, and the analysis of the previous studies in order to have a better understanding in the direction and theories of the development of Korean textbooks in recent years in China.
In the second chapter, a review has been conducted in terms of the situation of domestic education in the universities and the application of existing Korean textbooks as well as the students’ learning conditions. In order to have a deep understanding of the requirements and expectations from the point view of the students, an investigation has been carried in the form of questionnaire.
Based on the above two chapters, the third chapter analyzes the application of Korean textbooks in Chinese domestic universities, and then applying a more strict standards to evaluate the widely used Korean textbooks in many different kinds. As to develop more suitable textbooks for the Korean learner, the most important thing is to analyze the existing teaching materials, and find out the drawbacks, and explore a new development method and directions to improve it.
Finally, through the above analysis regarding of the education situation, students questionnaire investigation, and the using textbook, a new development theory has been proposed in the fourth chapter which suggest that textbooks should be more customized to the domestic Korean learner in China, and give directions to the development of new Korean textbook. These books should bear the following characteristics:
1）focused in students
2）taking consideration of the learning environment of Korean language
3）meet the requirements of the student and have practical learning content.
4）activities in class to improve the oral speaking capability.
This study gives a clear direction to the research and development of the new Korean textbooks which are more suitable to the current domestic education in this language through a deep analysis in a number of Korean textbooks published in China. And it’s also helpful in the development of the new textbook development; the results concluded from the investigation are valuable in the later on research process.

본 연구는 중국 내 대학교의 한국어 교재 사용 현황을 살피고 중국 내 학습자의 요구와 현재 중국에서 출판된 한국어 교재 분석을 바탕으로 중국 내 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재 개발 방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다.
교재는 교사, 학습자와 함께 교육을 구성하는 3대 요소 중의 하나로 교육 목표, 교육 내용과 교육 방법 등이 집약된 결정적인 매체이다. 중국 내 기존의 교재에 관련된 연구는 주로 중국에서 출판한 <표준한국어>와 <한국어> 등 두 종류의 교재를 중심으로 분석하고 문제점을 지적하였다. 그러나 최근에 중국 내 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재 개발이 많이 발전되어 새로운 교재도 많이 나왔다. 또한 교재를 개발하는 데 있어서 학습자의 요구는 기본적으로 알아야 하는 정보인데 선행 연구는 이를 잘 반영하고 있지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 중국 내 한국어 학습자의 요구 조사를 실시하여, 이를 바탕으로 중국 내 한국어 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재 개발 방향을 찾고자 한다.
이를 위해 먼저 Ⅰ장에서는 연구 목적과 연구방법을 제시한 후 최근 한국어 교재 개발 경향과 교재 개발 원리를 검토하기 위해 선행 연구를 검토하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 중국 내 각 대학의 교육과정과 사용하고 있는 교재, 학습자들의 학습 현황 등 중국에서의 한국어 교육이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지를 알아보았으며 Ⅲ장에서는 앞서 살펴본 내용을 바탕으로 현재 중국 내 대학에서 사용하고 있는 교재들의 현황을 파악하고 체계적인 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 현재 출판된 교재보다 발전된 교재를 제작하기 위해서는 기존 교재에 대한 비판적인 검토를 통해 단점을 발견하고 이를 개선하는 방향을 모색하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하기 때문이다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 Ⅳ장에서는 중국어 화자를 위한 교재 개발의 원리를 도출해 내어 중국 내 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재 개발 방향을 교수 학습 대상, 교수 학습 환경, 교수 학습 내용으로 나누어 구체적으로 제시하였다.
본 연구는 중국에서 출판된 다양한 한국어 교재를 분석하여 중국 내 현실에 적합한 교재 개발 방향을 제시하고자 한 연구로서 앞으로 중국어권 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재 개발에 관한 연구들의 참고 자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 생각한다.
