본 연구는 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자를 위하여 한국어 복문을 이해하는 방법을 제시하는 데에 있다. 한국어 고급 학습자라고 해도 길고 구조가 복잡한 복문을 볼 때 문장에 들어 있는 모든 ... 본 연구는 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자를 위하여 한국어 복문을 이해하는 방법을 제시하는 데에 있다. 한국어 고급 학습자라고 해도 길고 구조가 복잡한 복문을 볼 때 문장에 들어 있는 모든 단어와 문법 항목을 다 이해한다고 해도 문장 전체의 의미를 잘 이해할 수 없는 경우가 종종 있다. 이는 문장의 구조를 잘 이해하지 못한 데에 비롯된 것이다. 본고는 이를 해결하기 위하여 복문 이해 방법을 제시하였다. 모든 문장성분은 다 서술어를 중심으로 통사와 의미 면에서 통합되어 있다. 이 원리를 근거로 하고 동시에 덩어리표현과 연결어미 지식을 이용하여 구조가 상대적으로 쉬운 복문의 하위 부류인 내포문부터 접속문을 포함하는 일반 복문까지 복문을 이해하는 방법을 구체적으로 설명하였다. 본고에서 제시한 복문 이해 방법을 검증하기 위하여 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자 5명을 실험 대상자로 실험 연구를 진행하였다. 검증한 결과에 따르면 '문장성분', '덩어리표현', '연결어미'와 '복문'에 대한 이해율이 골고루 향상되었다. 반면에 문장 당 이해하는 시간이 느려졌다는 결과도 나왔다. 이는 본 연구에서 제시한 복문 이해 방법은 문장에 관련된 전문 지식이 없는 일반 한국어 학습자에게 다소 어려운 내용이기 때문이라고 판단한다. 그러나 좀 더 긴 시간을 두고 교육하면 구조가 복잡한 복문을 정확하게 빨리 이해하는 효과적인 방법이 되기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to propose a method of understanding of Korean language complex sentences for Chinese advanced learners of Korean language. Although a Chinese advanced learner of Korean language is able to understand all the words and grammar in a long or structurally complicated sentence, he or she sometimes cannot understand the meaning of whole sentence. It is seemingly because he or she does not understand the structure of sentence. In order to solve this problem, this study presented a new method of understanding for complex sentences. All the sentence components are integrated as syntaxes and meanings, focusing on predicates. Based on this principle, use the knowledge of chunk expression and connective suffixes, this study concretely explained the method of understanding complex sentences, from relatively easily structured embedded sentences, namely a sub-category of complex sentences, to general complex sentences including conjoined sentences. In order to test the method of understanding complex sentences, presented in this study, five Chinese advanced learners of Korean language were sampled as the subjects of experiment and then experimental research was carried out. The results showed that their rate of understanding of 'sentence components', 'chunk expressions', 'conjoined sentences' and 'complex sentences' was evenly improved. On the other hand, their time to understand per sentence was longer. It was seemingly because this study's method of understanding of complex sentences was a little difficult for Chinese ordinary learners of Korean language who had no technical knowledge on sentences. However, if they have enough time to learn the method, they could understand even intricate complex sentences more correctly and quickly.
