이 연구의 목적은 구어 텍스트와 문어 텍스트에서 나타나는 대용의 사용 양상을 텍스트 언어학적으로 접근하여, 각각의 대용어들이 텍스트의 목적이나 상황에 따라서 어떻게 사용되는지 그 특성과 기능을 규명하는 데 있다.
지금까지 대용어 연구는 매우 활발하게 진행되어 왔다. 대용의 정의나 유형 분류, 특징, 형태 등 형태 ․ 통사적 연구에서부터 화용론이나 텍스트 언어학에 이르기까지 폭넓게 연구되었다. 그러나 구어 텍스트와 문어 텍스트를 비교하는 한국어 대용어 연구는 많지 않다. 이러한 이유로 이 연구에서는 구어 텍스트와 문어 텍스트에서 나타나는 대용어의 사용 양상을 몇 가지 변인을 기준으로 통계, 분석하여 비교해 보고자 하였다. 생산자와 수용자의 관계가 다른 구어 텍스트와 문어 텍스트에서 나타나는 대용어의 차이가 어떻게 나타나는지를 살펴보고자 했으며, 문어 텍스트 내에서 혹은 구어 텍스트 내에서 여러 가지 변인에 따라 대용어가 어떻게 사용되는지를 살펴보았다.
이 연구는 한국어 대용어를 지금까지 연구되지 않은 문어 텍스트와 구어 텍스트를 비교하여 사용 양상과 기능을 살펴본 점에 의의가 있다. 그러나 너무 넓은 범위를 다루어 세부적으로 접근하지 못하였다. 따라서 한국어 대용어 연구에서 문어 텍스트와 구어 텍스트를 비교 분석하기 위해서는, 연구 대상의 범위를 좁히고 더 많은 작품과 구어 말뭉치를 세부적으로 깊숙하게 분석하는 것이 필요하다. 그리고 한국어 대용어의 사용 환경과 관련된 여러 가지 변인들을 정리하는 것도 과제로 남는다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics and functions of substitutes in different texts, which have certain situation and purpose. This study also tries to show a linguistic approach to the aspects of using substitutes in colloquial style and literary style.
The study of substitutes has continued to progress. The researchers broadly studied the definition of substitutes, classification of patterns, distinguishing features, pragmatics, morphology, syntax and text linguistics. However, there is not much research available which includes the comparison of Korean substitutes of colloquial and literary texts. Because of this, the usage patterns of substitutes in this study were statistical and analyzed by several variable standards.
The study shows the difference between the colloquial and literary texts, which have various producers and users. There are also the different usages of substitutes dependent on several variables in both texts.
This study compares both texts that researched the Korean substitutes usage and functions in new field of study.
Since the range was too broad to study the detail, the has appreciational limits. For the further research of the comparative Korean substitutes in both texts, the object of study need to be narrowed, and they should be analyzed and compared in terms of colloquial phrases in detail. The results indicated that there is an another post task of Korean substitutes in various situations.
