With the development of Korean education, various learning groups were organized, and Chinese airport ground staff in Korea became a new group of consumers along with the development of the aviation industry. However Korean education for Chinese airport ground staff, who are increasing in number, is insufficient in quality. Thus this research aims to propose measures to develop Korean textbooks for Chinese airport ground staff by analyzing existing Korean textbooks for Chinese airport ground staff and conducting a demand survey.
Detailed process for this research is as follows.
Research, the concept of Korean for occupational purposes and the principles of textbook organization were reviewed. The concept of Korean education for Chinese airport ground staff was revealed based on the findings from the review, and the characteristics of Korean used by Chinese airport ground staff were obtained through task analysis.
For the second basic research for proposing the development direction for Korean textbooks for Chinese airport ground staff, two existing Korean textbooks for occupational purposes out in the market were selected and were compared to the textbooks currently used by Chinese airport ground staff to find out the problems with the latter.
Thirdly, interviews and surveys were conducted for Chinese airport ground staff to grasp the demands for Korean textbooks. The targets for the surveys were Chinese airport ground staff from nine Chinese airports . Computational statistics for collected information were obtained using a statistics package program SPSS/WIN Ver 19.0. And to measure general characteristics of the targets, descriptive statistics such as number of responses, percentage(%), mean, and standard deviation were used.
Development measures for textbooks for Chinese airport ground staff based on the research process are as follows.
Through the process of analyzing the communication of Chinese airport ground staff, it was shown that the communication topics and terms used for Chinese airport ground staffs were different from those of other occupations. And by studying the importance of the topics, about 20 communication situations were selected as a topic for chapter. Among 4 components of language, speaking and listening were found more important than reading and writing. Helpful resources for English translation in each chapter were shown to be needed for all chapters.
For the design components of the textbook, B5 sized was the most appropriate. There was a demand for textbooks that are easy to carry, has appropriate mix of color and black-and-white pages, and has pictures and resources that can induce interest in readers. Also, there was a high demand for supplement materials such as carriable vocabulary notes and something to help the learners with listening.
With this research I have grasped Chinese airport ground staff demand on Korean textbooks for Chinese airport ground staff and also prepared development measures for them. I hope this research become the foundation for further development of Korean education for Chinese airport ground staff.

한국어 교육의 발전은 다양한 학습자 집단을 양성하였으며 그 중 항공 산업의 발전으로 국내의 중국 공항 직원 집단은 한국어교육의 새로운 대상이자 수요자로 부상하였다. 그러나 점차 증대되고 있는 중국 공항 직원에 대한 한국어 교육은 실질적으로 한국어교육이 제대로 제공되지 못하고 있는 집단이라고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이들의 업무 수행을 위한 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재 개발을 위해 중국 공항 직원들이 사용하는 기존 한국어 교재의 분석과 요구 조사를 실시하여 그 결과로 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재 개발을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
이를 위한 구체적인 연구 절차는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 중국 공항 직원 한국어교육에 대한 이론적 체계를 위하여 비즈니스 목적 한국어의 개념과 교재 구성 원리를 검토하였고 이를 바탕으로 중국 공항 직원 한국어교육의 개념과 업무 분석을 통해 중국 공항 직원 한국어의 특징을 정의하였다.
둘째, 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재 개발 방향을 마련하기 위한 두 번째 연구로 현재 중국 공항 직원들이 사용하는 기존 교재의 문제점을 파악하고자 현재 시중에 출간되어 있는 직업 목적의 한국어 교재 두 권을 선정하여 현재 중국 공항 직원들이 사용하고 있는 교재와 비교 분석하였다.
셋째, 중국 공항 직원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재에 대한 요구를 파악하고자 하였다. 설문조사의 대상은 중국 아홉 개 공항에서 근무 중인 중국 공항 직원을 대상으로 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN Ver 19.0 통계패키지 프로그램을 사용하여 전산통계 처리하였으며 조사대상자의 일반적 특성과 각 항목을 측정하기 위해 응답 수, 백분율(%), 평균, 표준편차와 같은 기술통계방법을 실행하였다.
연구 절차에 기초한 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재 개발 방안은 다음과 같다.
중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재의 내적 구성 측면으로 의사소통상황, 언어 기능, 발음 표기의 필요성에 대해 조사하였다. 중국 공항 직원의 의사소통상황으로는 업무 분석 과정 및 한국어 사용 환경에서 중국 공항 직원들의 한국어 사용 환경이 다른 직업 목적의 한국어와 의사소통 주제가 차별화되는 것을 알 수 있었고 업무 분석 과정에서 도출된 주제의 중요도를 조사한 결과 약 20개의 의사소통상황을 선정할 수 있었다. 중국 공항 직원들에게 필요한 언어 기능으로는 4가지 언어 기능 중 말하기와 듣기 기능이 읽기와 쓰기보다 중요한 것으로 나타났으며 교재 단원 내의 영어 번역에 대한 도움 자료로는 단원 구성 전체에서 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
중국 공항 직원 교재의 외적 구성의 측면으로는 B5 크기 정도로 휴대가 간편하고 교재 색채의 구성은 컬러와 단색이 적절히 조화된 것으로서 학습자들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 실제 그림이나 자료가 함께 제시된 구성을 요구하였고 교재와 관련된 구성물로는 휴대할 수 있는 단어장과 발음을 포함한 듣기 활동을 할 수 있는 도움 자료에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구는 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교육에 대한 이론적 기초를 마련하고 교재 개발을 위한 기존 교재의 분석과 중국 공항 직원들의 요구를 조사하여 이를 토대로 중국 공항 직원 한국어 교재 개발 방안을 마련하였다. 나아가 이를 바탕으로 중국 공항 직원을 위한 한국어교육이 더욱 발전해 나갈 수 있는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.
